Until this week, anyone could land on our site, click "Start free trial," and have a Sinan account running on their shop within minutes. That button is gone now. If you want to try Sinan, the site asks you to request access instead, and we open the account by hand.
That's a smaller, slower front door than we had a week ago. We want to explain why we built it that way on purpose.
What changed
- "Start free trial" has been removed from the site.
- New accounts are no longer self-serve. We open each one ourselves.
- If you want access, there's now a request form in its place.
- Nothing changes for shops already running Sinan. This only affects how new shops get started.
Why we're doing this
We are still a small company working with a small number of shops. Every one of those shops talks to us directly when something isn't right, and we fix it fast because there isn't much standing between a shop owner and the person who built the thing. A self-serve trial button works against that. It lets anyone sign up at any hour, with no one on our side watching to make sure the shop's setup actually fits how Sinan works, or that someone is ready to answer if the first few hours go sideways.
We'd rather grow slower and get each new shop right than grow faster and get some of them wrong. An AI agent that answers your customers and helps run your shop is not something we want to hand over with a click and walk away. We want to know who's starting, understand their shop before the first conversation happens, and be there if something needs adjusting in week one.
This is also just honest about where we are. We are a young company, still building the parts of Sinan that make a shop fully set up and comfortable, and we'd rather take on a few shops at a time and get it right than take on many and fall behind on any of them.
If you want in
The request form is still the fastest way to reach us if you run a shop and want to try Sinan. It asks a few questions about your shop so we understand what we'd be setting up before we say yes. We read every request ourselves. We can't promise a timeline, because we're being deliberate about pace rather than working off a queue, but we will get back to you.
If you already have an account, none of this touches you. Your shop keeps running exactly as it did before we made this change.
What this isn't
This isn't a sign that something broke, and it isn't a pricing change dressed up as a policy. It's a decision about pace, made because we think a shop owner trusting us with their customers' conversations deserves a real person on the other end before anything goes live, not just a working account.
We'll open this back up to self-serve sign-ups eventually, once the parts of Sinan that need to be solid for a shop to start on its own are actually solid. Until then, if you want to be one of the shops we take on, the request form is the way to reach us, and we'd rather hear from you directly than have you guess at what we're ready for.
